AI-DLDA 2018 will be an International Summer School for young researchers and Ph.D. students with the main aim of updating participants about the most recent advances in the area of Artificial Intelligence, ranging from deep learning to data analytics. This school will give an in-depth analysis of the state-of-the-art research and will cover a large spectrum of current research activities and industrial applications deal with big data, computer vision, human-computer interaction, biomedical informatics, deep learning and serious games.
Master’s students, PhD students, researchers and industry practitioners will be the ideal profiles of participants. However, there are no formal pre-requisites for attendance in terms of academic degrees. The selected participants will benefit from direct interaction with world leaders in AI.
WHEN AND WHERE:
The AI-DLDA 2018 School starts on Monday, July 2nd, and finishes on Friday, July 6th.
The School will take place in the beautiful University town of Udine, located in the North-East of Italy, close to Slovenia. Its strategic geographic position allows visitors to reach the nearby cities of Trieste and Venice easily, as they are just a few hours away from Udine.
The School will be organized in four teaching days with keynote lectures from both academia and industry (during the morning) and laboratory sessions (during the afternoon) and one round table. Invited industry will present their advanced applications in the field of AI. Last day is reserved to final exam for those who need credits and the poster session.
The registration fee is 350€ for Students. The fee includes access to all courses, free meals and accommodation for the whole stay.
The 10 best students, evaluated on the basis of their CVs and scientific white papers, will be relieved from any registration fee and will be supported in their travel expenses (up to 500€). Both the CV and the white paper have to be uploaded through the registration form and the white paper must not be longer than 3 pages.
For Companies the registration fee is 750€ for the entire week or 250€ per single day, VAT excluded. The fee includes access to the courses chosen and lunch for each course day. Accommodation and dinners are not included.
A certificate of participation in the event will be delivered indicating the number of hours of lectures. Exam pass will be included in the certificate.
During the week of the school, there will be time for a tour of the ancient town of Palmanova (Unesco site) and Aquileia, including the opportunity to experience the local traditions. A social dinner and a party are also part of the social program.
