Not only lectures and lab sessions for the 33 participants of the Summer School on Artificial Intelligence. As a matter of fact, we wanted to take the opportunity to let our PhD and Business Students from all over the world – along with the international speakers – to discover some of the peculiarities of the Friulian territory.

In addition to Udine, home of the Summer School, the participants visited Aquileia, an UNESCO heritage site due to the importance of its archaeological area and the beauty of the floor mosaics that it safeguards.

Founded as a colony in 181 BC, under the reign of Caesar Augustus, it soon became one of the richest cities of the empire and the center of European Christianity.

The visit ended with a dinner at a local restaurant where all the participants had the chance to taste local food along with a nice glass of wine from Aquileia’s vineyards.
